Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Cattlox livestock marketplace platform. Please read them carefully before using our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Cattlox mobile application and related services (“Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
2. Eligibility (18+ Only)
The Platform is available only to individuals who are at least 18 years of age. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly allow minors to use the Platform and may suspend or delete accounts if we learn that a user is under 18.
3. Nature of the Platform
Cattlox is a technology intermediary that connects buyers and sellers of livestock. We do not own, broker, transport, inspect, certify, or guarantee any animal. We do not participate in or guarantee any transaction. All transactions are solely between the buyer and the seller. We are not responsible for the quality, health, fertility, milk yield, breed authenticity, or any other characteristic of listed animals, or for the performance of either party in a transaction.
4. User Accounts & OTP Authentication
You must register using a valid Indian mobile number. We use one-time password (OTP) verification to authenticate users. You are responsible for keeping your phone and account access secure. You must provide accurate profile information (e.g. full name, district) as required. You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent platform rules or for fraudulent purposes.
5. Seller Responsibilities
If you list animals for sale, you are responsible for the accuracy of your listings (animal type, age, price, description, and photos). You must have the lawful right to sell the animal and must comply with all applicable animal trade, transport, and health regulations. You are responsible for the condition and any representations you make about the animal. Cattlox does not verify, inspect, or guarantee any listing.
6. Buyer Responsibilities
As a buyer, you are responsible for satisfying yourself as to the animal's condition, health, and suitability before completing any transaction. You should inspect the animal and any documentation in person where appropriate. Cattlox does not guarantee the accuracy of listings or the performance of sellers. All dealings are between you and the seller.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Platform for any illegal or fraudulent purpose; to misrepresent yourself or any listing; to harass, abuse, or harm others; to circumvent our policies or systems; or to post false, misleading, or illegal content. We may suspend or permanently ban accounts and report activity to law enforcement when we deem it necessary.
8. Listings & Content Accuracy
Listings may include animal details, price, and approximate (GPS-based) location. We do not verify the accuracy of listings. Sellers are solely responsible for the content of their listings. We may remove or hide content that violates our policies or the law. Public location shown on the Platform is approximate to protect seller privacy.
9. Reporting & Suspension
Users may report problematic listings or conduct through the in-app reporting feature. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are involved in fraud, abuse, or serious policy violations. We may share information with law enforcement or other authorities when required by law or to protect the Platform and users.
10. Fees
Currently, use of the Platform for browsing and posting listings is free. We may introduce fees in the future; we will notify users of any material fee changes in advance where required.
11. Disclaimers
The platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee the health, fertility, milk yield, breed authenticity, or condition of any animal. We do not guarantee prices, availability, or the conduct of users. We are not liable for any transaction or dispute between buyers and sellers.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cattlox and its affiliates, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform or any transaction. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim (if any), or one thousand Indian rupees, whichever is lower.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cattlox and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, your listings or transactions, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
14. Compliance with Animal & Transport Laws
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws relating to cattle trade, animal health, transport, and movement (including state and central regulations). Cattlox does not provide legal advice. It is your responsibility to obtain any required permits, certificates, or approvals before buying, selling, or transporting animals.
15. Termination & Account Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or for any other reason we consider necessary to protect the Platform or users. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India. We may specify a particular state or city for dispute resolution in a future update.
17. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms in the app and update the Effective Date and version number. For material changes, we may notify you via the app or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Platform after the updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the changes, to the extent permitted by law.
